Strontium carbonate

Strontium carbonate is an important alkaline earth metal carbonate with the chemical formula SrCO, Its unique chemical properties make it an indispensable functional additive in the ceramic industry.

Strontium carbonate is an important alkaline earth metal carbonate with the chemical formula SrCO and a molecular weight of

147.63 g/mol. At room temperature, it appears as a white, odorless powder with a density of 3.5 g/cm³ and a decomposition tem-

perature of 1497°C. Naturally occurring as strontianite, industrial-grade products typically have a purity of ≥97.5%. Its unique

chemical properties make it an indispensable functional additive in the ceramic industry.

Product features:

·Fluxing Agent: The decomposition product SrO significantly lowers the melting point of glazes (by 50-100°C).

·Expansion Control: Effectively adjusts the thermal expansion coefficient of glazes (reduction of 15-20%).

·Optical Properties:

oEnhances glaze gloss (increase of 10-15 GU).

oPromotes special optical effects (iridescence, opalescence, etc.).

·Crystallization Promoter: Acts as a nucleating agent for strontium silicate crystal formation.
